Directeur Bangu Masisi zal per oktober 2015 het Nederlandse verkeersbureau van Zuid-Afrika verlaten en per november 2015 haar positie innemen bij South African Tourism in de Verenigde Staten. Haar vijf jaar als directeur zijn verstreken en het is tijd om afscheid te nemen.
Bangu Masisi: “It has been a great pleasure to work in the Dutch market and a huge opportunity to market South Africa as a holiday destination in another country after my stint in Australasia before. The five year period has created platform to work with very enthusiastic trade and media partners with innovative ideas to drive more tourist numbers to South Africa.”
Masisi heeft de kans gekregen om het verkeersbureau in de Verenigde Staten te leiden. Ze zal vanaf november daar starten en ze kijkt uit naar deze nieuwe uitdaging: “Much as I have been given yet another great opportunity, I have enjoyed working with a wonderful team in The Netherlands and had their support all the way. We all worked together as a team and I will miss them and their different way of handling situations, which was an eye opener for me! I also appreciate the support that my team and I have had from all the agencies and stakeholders we have worked with since I arrived in 2010. They have all given us their honest opinion on what works and doesn’t in the Dutch market and most of our collective ideas have met consumer needs”, zegt Bangu Masisi.
Voor de belanghebbenden zal Masisi de tijd hebben om afscheid te nemen voor het eind van oktober. Het verkeersbureau zal op dezelfde voet verder gaan en snel informatie beschikbaar stellen over wie deze functie tijdelijk zal overnemen. Het hoofdkantoor zal binnenkort beslissen wie de nieuwe directeur van South African Tourism in Nederland zal worden.
